Anita Man Dies Suddenly
Anita, Ia., Dec. 27.-- (Special)--S. K. Wilson, 63, passed away at his home in South Anita, Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock. He had been suffering from the flu, but was thought to be regaining his health, and his death came as a great shock.He was helping about the kitchen Friday afternoon and went to a couch in the dining room to lie down. Mrs. Wilson heard a peculiar noise and went to see what it was about, and found Mr. Wilson ill. He passed away before medical help could be reached, a victim of cerebral hemorhage.
Mr. Wilson was born in Powershiek county, Ia., and was the son of George and Mahaba (Reed) Wilson. He was one of eleven children.
He was married to Nina Hendricks on Feb. 12, 1894. To this union three children were born, a son, Merle, and two daughters, Alma and Mrs. Mable Dement, of Anita. Mr. Wilson came to the Anita vicinity in 1876, locating on a farm in Lincoln township. He and Mrs. Wilson retired from farming last March and moved to Anita to spend the rest of their days. He leaves to mourn his death his faithful wife, son and two daughters, two brothers, William Wilson of Council Bluffs and Lew Wilson of Fort Dodge, Ia., and two sisters, Mrs. Alice Helfer of Boone and Mrs. Trice Binns, Ventura, Cal.
Mr. Wilson was a member of the I.O.O.F. lodge, No. 262, of Anita and the Modern Woodmen of America, Camp No. 1537, of Anita.
Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Congregational church with Rev. E. L. Anderson in charge. The I.O.O.F. order will hold their services at the Evergreen cemetery where interment will be made.
