KILLED IN ACTION

Pfc. Russell Kuehn of Anita was killed in action last December somewhere in the European theatre of war.

Mrs. Russell Kuehn received word some months ago from the government that her husband was missing, but last Saturday she received word officially that her husband has been killed.

Russell Kuehn, son of Mr. and Mr. Fred Kuehn east of Anita, was born on a farm near Anita, October 15th, 1918. He attended the country school and two years in the Anita High school. After he left school he engaged in farming with his father. June 29th, 1941, he was united in marriage to Miss Mildres Smith, northeast of Anita. They were married at Marysville, Mo. Russell was farming his father’s farm, when he was inducted into the army in March, 1944, and went from Anita to Camp Hood, Tex., to receive his training. He went overseas Sept. 9th, 1944.
