Body of Deceased Soldier
Arrives in Anita

The body of Samuel A. Miller, a
brother of Mrs. Roy Pine and Mrs.
Ben Johnson of near Exira, arrived
in Anita last Friday, and was laid
to rest in the cemetery there, with
full military honors.

The young man entered the ser-
vice July 23, 1918, and sailed for
France, September 23, 1918, with
Company C., 23rd Infantry, 2nd
Division. In the Argonne-Meuse
campaign on November 4th, 1918
he was wounded in both lower
limbs and died a few hours later.
He was 26 years, 10 months and
11 days old.

He is survived by his parents,
Mr. and Mrs. C. L. D. Miller of
Anita; three brothers, Thomas,
John and Ralph of Anita and five
sisters, Mrs. John Baylor of Anita,
Mrs. Walter Hackwell of Canada,
Mrs. Eugene Wheatley of Atlantic,
Mrs. Pine and Mrs. Johnson of
Exira.
