LAST RITES HELD FOR MRS. BRUNER

Funeral services were held Thursday, Oct. 3 at the Bickford-Murray Funeral Homes in Greenfield for Mrs. Kate Bruner, 78. The Rev. Don Arthur officiated. Alice Hogan organist accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Paul Bickford as they sang, “No Disappointments In Heaven” and “Beyond The Sunst”. Taking care of the flowers were Mrs. Forrest Wilson, Mrs. Harry Kaufmann and Mrs. Ralph Nichols.

Casketbearers were Glen Weaver, Ralph Nichols, Harry Kaufmann, Merlin Lovely, Forrest Wilson and Kenneth Lovely. Interment was in the Greenfield Cemetery.

Mrs. Bruner, was born in Cass County on Mar. 15, 1883, the daughter of Jacob A. and Bertha Ellen Hedrick Stark and passed away Tuesday morning, Oct. 3 at the Adair County Memorial Hospital in Greenfield where she had been a patient for six days.

On Mar. 9, 1904 she was married to James MIlton Bruner at Greenfield. They lived on a farm in the Greenfield vicinity until they moved to the farm they purchased east of Anita in 1938. Here they lived until Mr. Bruner’s passing on Jan. 1, 1959. Mrs. Bruner’s still maintained her home on the farm until Aug. 3 of this year when she went to make her home with her daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Killion at Greenfield. Mrs. Bruner had been in declining health for some time.

She is survived by three children, two sons, Leland and John of Atlantic, a daughter, Mrs. Killion (Bertha) of Greenfield; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1959, also five sisters and two brothers.
