Obituary of Mary A. Moore of 1905
"Mary A. Moore was born in the state of North Carolina February 15, 1846, and died in Lewis, Iowa, December 2 1905, at the age of 59 years, 9 months and 17 days.
She was married to Albert Walter in 1871. In 1875 they came to Cass County, which was their home until her passing. Six children were born to this union, two sons and four daughters: Charles, Arthur, Mrs. W.W. Trent, Mrs. Thos. Rhoades, Mrs John Doty, all of Lewis, and Mrs. W.E. Partridge of Massena. She also leaves a sister and four brothers to mourn her departure. Mrs. Walter had been in poor health for a number of years, and was a great charge on her family and friends. She became united with the Methodist church in early life. Subsequently she became a member of the Church of Christ, of which denomination she continued to be a member of until her end."
