ARCADIA - Mrs. Ruth Clara Liechti, 86, of rural Arcadia, died at 2:50 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll after a long illness. She was admitted to the hospital earlier in the day.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church in Carroll, with burial in the Carroll City Cemetery. The Rev. Andrew Bosman of Glidden will officiate. Friends may call at the Dahn-Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll from noon Thursday until 12:30 p.m. Friday, at which time the casket will be moved to the church for viewing until the hour of services.

Mrs. Liechti was a lifelong resident of the Arcadia community. She was born in Carroll County Feb. 26, 1887, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Knowlton. On Sept. 25, 1906, she was married in Carroll County to Otto Liechti, who died in 1954. She was a member of the Beulah Methodist church, located southwest of Carroll, until it closed.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Helen Walter of Maryville, Mo., Mrs. Ethel Davison of Fort Dodge and Mrs. Edwin (Lenore) Teague of Glidden; 16 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Florence Liechti of rural Carroll and a brother, Joseph Knowlton of Brighton, Colo.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Liechti was preceded in death by a daughter, six sons, a sister and four brothers.
