Eunice S. (Muller) Frey, age 94, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, January 16, 2026, at Maple Manor Nursing Home in Aplington, Iowa. She was born the daughter of Siebrand and Frieda (DeVries) Muller of rural Aplington on August 20, 1931. She graduated from Aplington High School in 1949. After she graduated, Eunice moved to Waterloo and worked at Rath Packing Company for one year. She then moved back to the farm with her parents, waiting for her husband to be, Herman Frey, to return from the service.
On February 27, 1953, Eunice was united in marriage to Herman L. Frey at the Bethel Reformed Church in rural Aplington. They farmed until retirement and built a new home east of Parkersburg. Eunice was a homemaker and helped Herman on the farm. They were married 61 years before Herman passed away. Eunice was a member of the Reformed Church of Stout and would help in the kitchen whenever needed for various events. Her favorite Bible verse was Psalms 91:1.
Eunice loved to bake, garden and take care of her chickens. She enjoyed playing cards with friends, however she was a very conservative player. Eunice loved to hear and see pictures or videos of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren involved in their sports. She made the best cut out frosted Christmas sugar cookies and coconut cream pie! Eunice enjoyed making meals and serving others.
Eunice was preceded in death by her husband, Herman L. Frey, her parents and a sister, Esther Kampman.
Eunice is survived by one daughter, Deborah (Duane) Alberts of Parkersburg; three sons, Douglas (Kristin) Frey of Victoria, Minnesota, Daniel (Kay) Frey of Parkersburg and Darrin (Jill) Frey of Polk City, Iowa; eight grandchildren, Scott (Stacey) Alberts and Trent (Kari) Alberts, Courtney (Dave Grant) Frey and Tiffany (Garrett) Ackerson, Taylor and Michael Frey and Parker (Kari Weiland) and Avery Frey; five great-grandchildren, Braden and Colton Alberts and Caitlin (Dawson) Jacobsma, Elise and Trace Alberts; one brother, David (Melinda) Muller of Aplington; one sister, Sharon Buseman of Aplington; along with many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at the Reformed Church of Stout in Stout, Iowa, with burial in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Parkersburg, Iowa.
Visitation will be held before the service from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the church.
