Edna Louise Ringleb, 96 of Waverly, Iowa, died on Thursday, November 10, 2005 at the Waverly Health Center, Waverly.

Edna was born on September 2, 1909 on a farm in Fremont Township, Butler County, Iowa, the daughter of William and Louise (Graua) Klunder. She was baptized and confirmed at First United Church of Christ-Pleasant Valley, rural Clarksville, Iowa. She attended Beaver Creek Country School through the eighth grade. After her schooling she helped her family on the farm and also worked for neighboring farm families.

On November 6, 1930 she was united in marriage to Frank William Ringleb in the Pleasant Valley Church. For the next 26 years, the couple farmed near Pleasant Valley Church. Frank died on September 12, 1956.

In 1959, following a farm sale, Edna moved to Waverly. In 1960, Edna started working as a cook for the Lutheran Children’s Home in Waverly (now Bremwood). She worked for 21 years and retired in 1981.

She is survived by her son in law, Clarence Leisinger and his wife, Celia of Waverly, Iowa; and a daughter in law, Marilyn Ringleb of Waverly, Iowa; four grandchildren, and their spouses, Vernon and Bev Leisinger of Waverly, Iowa; Shirley and George Bierner of Cedar Falls, Iowa; Lori and Tom Soska of Cedar Falls, Iowa; Brian and Cindy Leisinger of Waverly, Iowa; four great grandchildren, Melissa Sells of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Andrea (Ryan) Siegworth of Maquoketa, Iowa; Kelsey Soska of Cedar Falls, Iowa, and Katelyn Soska of Cedar Falls, Iowa; one sister, Elsie Deike of Waverly, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Frank, a daughter, Norma Leisinger; a son, Harold Ringleb; brothers and sisters, Louise Wedeking, Bertha Wedeking, Henry Klunder, Albert Klunder, Lena Stoxen, Hilda Schmadeke, Ella in infancy and Ida in childhood.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, November 16, 2005 at Peace United Church of Christ. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, rural Clarksville, Iowa. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, Waverly. Memorials may be directed to the Peace United Church or to Lutheran Services In Iowa-Bremwood Campus
