Schipper, George Delos (1933-2025)

George Delos Schipper, age 91, of Grundy Center, Iowa, formerly of Parkersburg, Iowa, was born the son of Ben and Tena (Mudderman) Schipper, on June 9, 1933, Aplington, Iowa. He attended a country school near his home.

On March 1, 1955, George was united in marriage with Jeanette Ann Eckhoff at the First Reformed Church in Aplington. They made their home in rural Parkersburg, where George worked as a farm hand. Through the years he enjoyed working outside and proudly kept their place looking nice. He raised a large garden, canned vegetables and made apple sauce from their tree.

Through the years George was a member of the Hope Reformed Church in Parkersburg and was currently attending Orchard Hill Church in Grundy Center. In his spare time, he very much enjoyed the outdoors and taking walks. He loved spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

George passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at the Grundy Care Center in Grundy Center, of natural causes. He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Jeanette on August 20, 2014; one grandson, Cody Woods, one great-grandson, Hayden Siefken; his parents, Ben and Tena Schipper; and one brother, William Schipper.

George is survived by two daughters, Phyllis Schipper of Waverly, IA, and Verlene (Ron Randall Jr.) Siefken of Grundy Center; grandchildren, Paul Siefken, Aliah Johnson, Ryan (Micheala) Siefken, Ronny (Adrienne) Randall, Casandra (Doug) Wiers, James (Heather) Fritz, Tony Fritz, Sam Holtkamp, Chuck Davis and Keri Despard; great-grandchildren, Grayson, Jackson, Weston, Braxton, Hayeston, Roselynn, Emmit, Anastasia, Douglas Jr., Elliot, Benjamin, Kenzi, Austen, and Charlie; one sister, Anna Mae Stahl of Grundy Center; and a special friend, Laura Nicholaus, her daughter Kelly Rose and grandson, Tyler of Hawaii.

Funeral Services will be 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, February 12th, at the Redman Funeral & Cremation Services – Parkesburg Funeral Home with burial in the Oak Hill Cemetery, both in Parkersburg, Iowa.

Visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, at the Redman Funeral & Cremation Services – Parkersburg Funeral Home.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
