Returns Home After Service to Country

DOUGHERTY-Pfc. Edmund Riggins arrived in New York in the Sea Fiddler after a 12 day voyage from the ETO. He spent most of a year and 10 months in Belgium, France, Germany and England with the first army in the anti aircraft artillery.

Pfc. Riggins landed on the Normandy beachhead on the 2nd day of invasion.

He wears the purple heart, bronze arrowhead and the good conduct medal.

Pvt. Riggins received his discharge at Camp Grant, Ill. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. V.L. Riggins of Dougherty.
