Mary Ann Henry Boots was born near Chicago, January 31, 1841, and died on Tuesday April 25th, 1916, at the age of 75 years, 2 months and 25 days.

In her girlhood she moved with her parents to Sycamore, Ill., and there was united in marriage to Thomas Boots on March 27, 1858. They lived for a number of years in Jones County, Iowa. In March 1881 they moved to Buena Vista County where they have lived up to the present time. To this union nine children were born, three of them having preceded their mother to the home beyond. She leaves to mourn her departure her aged husband, six children, Charles H., Samuel P., Franklyn T., John C., Leonard S., all of Nemaha; and one daughter, Mrs. Cora E. Totman of Storm Lake, also seven grand-children and one great grandchildgrandchild, and one sister, Mrs. Elsie Reeder of Cherokee.

Grandma Boots has been an active member of the M. E. church for thirty years, and her faith in her Savior strengthened her in her last hours of life. She was a devoted wife a loving mother and an excellent neighbor, ever ready to lend a hand where help was needed. Besides her family she leaves a host of friends to mourn her departure.

The funeral services will be held in the M. E. church at Nemaha this Thursday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Halliday, and interment will be made in the Early cemetery.
