Mrs. Cordella M. Smith, of Fairpoint, South Dakota, died Wednesday March 27th, 1912, at the age of 75 years, 3 months and 2 days. The body was brought back to Marathon Sunday and laid to rest in the Lincoln township cemetery beside her husband, father and mother, who have been buried there many years; her husband was one of the civil war soldiers.

She was the mother of three sons, Alford, Dellos and Austin. For the past seven years she has been keeping house for the youngest son, Austin, since the death of his wife. The past three years they have been living in Dakota where she died. Austin had charge of the dray here for three years previous to that, he was also the first mail carrier on route three from this city. The Smith family lived about ten years near Storm Lake.

Mrs. Nellie Morris, of Webb, and Alice Radcliffe, of Peterson were in attendance at the funeral. Rev. Metcalf, of Truesdale, offered prayer at the grave.
