Am searching for any information on the Whait family (families)residing in Independence, Buchanan Co., Iowa, beginning in the 1850's or there about. This is my lineage and I have been able to acquire information dating back to my ggrandfather. There were brothers in Independence at the same time with their families. I don't know which ones were brothers. They owned a business making buggies. Also there were Whaite's that are connected, but can't quite fit the puzzle together.
