Thanks so much for your interest and help in my search. You have given me a couple of good ideas that I am certainly going to pursue. I think Jeremiahs widow applied for a pension but I'm not sure how much info there is in them. I have never sent for one but I have sent and recieved other family military records and sometimes they can be quite a treasure. The son of this Jeremiah...also Jeremiah...served during the Civil War with the Pa 54th Vol. and I obtained his service records quite a few years back. Like I said, me and other family have been doing this a long time. If you are from Iowa maybe you have heard of the little town of Irwin Iowa in the western part of the state. Ebenezer, whom the town was named for is my g,g, uncle. He would be my lost Jeremiahs brother.I had a chance to visit Irwin Iowa only briefly about 8 years ago and would like to return and spend more time wondering around the entire state. Again thanks for leading me in the right direction and hopefully I can finally get this mystery solved. Of course there's always another one waiting, right?
Thank-you MCH
