Linda L. Buechler, 82, of Independence, Iowa, passed away on Monday, January 5, 2026, at Buchanan County Health Center in Independence.

Linda was born on October 23, 1943, in Dubuque, Iowa, the daughter of Lloyd and Bernice (Kuhse) Amundson. She grew up near Farmersburg, Iowa, and was a 1961 graduate of MFL High School. On September 25, 1961, Linda was united in marriage to Curtis Noack in Farmersburg. Together they raised their three daughters, Kelly, Kym, and Krista. The couple later divorced.

Linda had a deep love for music and was a talented musician. She was the female lead singer and bass player in the locally well-known band “The Sounds of Nashville.” She especially treasured her role as a mother and grandmother and always looked forward to spending time with her family, particularly during the holidays.

She is survived by her three daughters: Kelly Mendez of Independence, Iowa; Kym Salow of Independence, Iowa; and Krista (Wayne) Walton of Franktown, Colorado; seven grandchildren: Gillian Mendez, Nicolas Mendez, Ashley Sherrets, Jennifer Rykman, Jami Griffin, Kara Walton, and Luke Walton; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Rita Leliefeld of Guttenberg, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.

Linda was preceded in death by her father, Lloyd Amundson; her mother, Bernice Benzing; two sons-in-law, Nicolas Mendez and Curt Salow; one brother, Lloyd Amundson Jr.; and two sisters, Marlene Meyer and Rose Mary Tielbar.

A private graveside service was held at Farmersburg-Wagner Cemetery in Farmersburg, Iowa.

The Reiff Family Center – Funeral Home & Crematory assisted the family with arrangements.
