George A. Wayne, 64, of Winthrop, Iowa, died on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at MercyOne Cedar Falls Medical Center.

George was born on December 3, 1961, in Oelwein, Iowa, the son of Dale J. Kraft; Doris M. (Frazer) Wayne and Elgie H. Wayne. He spent the majority of his childhood in Greene, Iowa, and was a 1980 graduate of Rockford High School in the Rudd-Rockford-Marble Rock Community School District. Throughout his life, George lived in various communities across Iowa and Minnesota before making Winthrop his home in 2008.

George was a hardworking man who held several jobs over the years, including positions at Wapsi Valley Creamery, XL Trailers, AJ Trucking in Oelwein, Benton Concrete, and with G&L Lawn Rangers during the winter months.

In his free time, George enjoyed fishing, racing, and league bowling. One of his greatest joys was watching his son race. He also loved taking truck rides with the kids and spending time with his family. George loved music, and playing it loudly.

George is survived by his children: Erica Doudney of Oelwein, Iowa; Marcus (Carly) Wayne of Independence, Iowa; Autumn (Ever Perales) Wayne of Rogers, Arkansas; Mason Wayne of Springdale, Arkansas; and Jaden Wayne of Springdale, Arkansas; four grandchildren; Haley, Hannah, and Hunter Hettinger, and Javier Perales, four sisters: Laurie Cordes of Flowery, Georgia; Cindy (Steve) Muehling of Waverly, Iowa; Karen (Corey) Klouse of Mason City, Iowa; and Gena (Derek) Buss of Allison, Iowa, and a brother, Steven (Lori) Kraft, of Tacoma Washington.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dale Kraft; Elgie and Doris Wayne; a son, Jarrod Wayne; and a brother, Rodney Wayne.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 2 PM until 5 PM on Saturday January 31, 2025, at the Reiff Family Center – Funeral Home & Crematory in Independence, Iowa.
