Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Raymond for George N. Wingert, 69, of Raymond, who died about 11:30 a.m. yesterday at St. Francis hospital, of an asthmatic condition.

The Rev. Donald F. Sweeney, pastor, will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the Oppold funeral home after 3 p.m. today. Rosaries will be recited at 8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home by the Holy Name and Rosary Societies.

Mr. Wingert was born March 23, 1892, in Barclay Twp., the son of Charles and Margaret Ehr Wingert. He married Lioba Kraut on June 14, 1920, in Raymond.

He was a member of St. Joseph's Church and of the Holy Name and Rosary Society and an Army veteran of World War 1, and a member of the Disabled American Veterans.

Mr. Wingert was an assessor in Poyner Township from 1924 to 1945 and a township trustee for the past 12 years in the Raymond area.

Surviving are three sons, Paul, Cleveland, Ohio; Dr. John, Barksdale Air Force Base, La., Charles, San Jose, California; four daughters, Sister Jolene, O. S. F., St. Joseph's School, Larchwood, Iowa, Sister Mona, O. S. F., St. Mary's of the Woods School, Chicago, Mrs. Robert Schmitt, Raymond and Mrs. M. C. Schaefer, Kenosha, Wis.; 27 grandchildren; three brothers, Matt, Raymond; Joseph, Arlington; and John, Good Thunder, Minnesota; two sisters, Mrs. Ben Adams, Stacyville; and Harold Pint, Raymond.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife in 1955 and two sisters.
