Mrs. Berend Died Today -- Raymond, Iowa - March 10-

Mrs. Angeline Berend, relict of Nicholas Berend, died at 5:30 this morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William Heinen. Mrs. Berend had been in poor health since suffering a paralytic stroke three years ago.

Mrs. Berend was a native of Nittel, Germany, where she was born in 1833. In 1883, she came to the US and settled on a farm near Gilbertville, where she resided until the death of Mr. Berend 16 years ago.

Surviving are four of six children as follows: Henry, Waterloo; Matthew, Paul and Mrs. William Heinen, all of Raymond.

Funeral services to be held Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock from St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Raymond. Father Rottler will officiate. Burial will be at Gilbertville.
