John Peter Federspiel died at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the home of his son, Lawrence, 2324 Falls Avenue, of a complication of diseases. He was 75 years old.
A long time resident of Gilbertville, IA, he had lived at his son's residence for about three months.
In 1865 he was born in Luxembourg, coming to the United States in 1884. On April 23, 1890, he married Miss Mary Nie of Naperville, Ill, and since then the couple has lived near Gilbertville, where he was a farmer.
Surviving besides the widow are two sons and a sister, John, 515 Archer Avenue; Lawrence, and Mrs. Catherine Sondag, Gilbertville. There are also four grandchildren.
Three brothers, Nick, Matt, and Peter, two daughters, and a sister are dead.
The funeral will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in Gilbertville's Immaculate Conception Catholic church and burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery, Gilbertville.
The body will be taken Monday evening to the John Federspiel home, 515 Archer avenue, from the Ray Hurley funeral home.
Members of the Men's Catholic Order of Foresters will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at 515 Archer to recite the rosary and Sacred Heart Rosary society will meet at 8 p.m.
