WATERLOO - Daniel Joseph Michels, 55, of Waterloo, died Saturday, Nov. 15, 2014, at his home.

He was born Oct. 29, 1959, in Waterloo, son of Hugh and Janeane Menuey Michels. He married Cheryl Neisen on May 3, 2014, in Waterloo.

A U.S. Army veteran, Daniel painted wrestling mats for Quality Mat until his retirement in March.

Survived by his wife; a daughter Tricia (Duane) Freeman of Dysart; two grandchildren; and two brothers, Max of Waterloo and Bernard of Hiawatha.

Preceded in death by his parents.

At his request, there will be no visitation or services. Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street assisted the family.
