WATERLOO - Esther McKibbin, 92, of Waterloo, formerly of State Center, died Thursday, July 5, 2007, at Covenant Medical Center.

She was born Jan. 6, 1915, on a farm near Kellogg, daughter of Fred S. and Marie Lenz Henning. She married John A. McKibbin on May 2, 1935, in Unionville, Mo. He preceded her in death in 1987.

She graduated from Van Cleve's High School in 1933 and attended the Evangelical School of Nursing in Marshalltown. Mrs. McKibbin farmed with her husband in northern Jasper County and Marshall County until retiring.

From 1972 to 1985 she was employed at the State Center Manor.

Survived by three sons, Fred (Mary) of Granger, Gary (Vicki) of Marshalltown and Craig (Rachel) of Rhodes; a daughter, Sharon (Chris) Leonard of Waterloo; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by a sister, Lucille Streeter.

Services: 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Mitchell Family Funeral Home, Marshalltown, with burial in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Public visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
