DUNKERTON - Cheryl Jean Brown, 68, of Dunkerton, died at home Sunday, Nov. 2, 2014.

She was born Dec. 24, 1945, in Waterloo, daughter of James Corwin Crane and Maxine Cornelia Widdel Crane. On July 22, 1967, she married Thomas Joseph Brown at St. John’s Catholic Church in Waterloo.

She graduated from Dunkerton High School in 1964. Cheryl operated Joe’s Fast Break for six years and also did home daycare. She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church.

Survived by her husband; two daughters, Janeen (Dan) Williams of Firestone, Colo., and Melissa (Jason) Pates of Denver; two sons, James (Michelle) of Dunkerton and Jason (Kristie) Brown of Evansdale; 12 grandchildren; and a sister, Judy (Norm) Tudor of Evansdale.

Preceded in death by her parents.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Francis Catholic Church–Barclay, rural Dunkerton, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at White Funeral Home, Jesup, with a 4 p.m. rosary and 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also for an hour before services Thursday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
