Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Kearns- Dykeman Chapel for Leo C. Waterman, 63, of 121 E. 9th St., who died in Veterans' Administration Hospital in Iowa City at 3:10 a.m. Wednesday of pneumonia. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Thursday and until the service time on Saturday. Dr. C. H. Pettersen, visitation pastor of the Grace United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Freemont Township Cemetery near Tripoli.

Mr. Waterman was born in Tripoli on April 3, 1909, the son of Calvin and Elida Earnest Waterman. He married Edith Hunemuller on Aug. 6, 1931, in New Hampton and they were later divorced. He married Lillian, Woodsmall on June 6, 1959, in Cedar Rapids.

He was a painter for most of his life, being employed by various contractors in the area including Stickfort, Mauser and McIntee.

He was a member of King-Marson Chapter No. 11, DAV and a past member of Becker Chapman Post No. 139, American Legion.

He is survived by his wife, two sons, Darald and Arlan both of 614 Baltimore St.; one daughter, Mrs. Barbara Thatcher of Salt Lake City, Utah, one, step-daughter, Mrs. Abbie Rottinghaus of Ft. Roberts, Mo.; two brothers, Everett of Tripoli and Lloyd of Knoxville; five sisters: Mrs. Isabelle Williams, Mrs. Leola Rettig,
and Miss Louise Waterman, all of Tripoli, Mrs. Rasalee Quinn of 233 Maryhill Dr.; Cedar Falls, and Mrs. Melva Olson of Minneapolis; and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter and one sister.
