WATERLOO - Merna M. Miller, 90, of Friendship Village, formerly of Orange Township, died at the village Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2006, of natural causes.
She was born Jan. 8, 1916, in Fillmore County, Minn., daughter of John W. and Nettie Sikkink Wissing. She married E. Vernon Miller on March 4, 1943. in Orange Township. He died in 1979.
Mrs. Miller attended rural country school. She and her husband farmed in Orange Township. She was a member of South Waterloo Church of the Brethren, Woman's Fellowship and the West Orange Club.
Survivors include two sons, Craig (Glenice) of Iowa Falls and Keith of Waterloo; a daughter, Karen (David) Werner of Van Horne; six grandchildren, Brad (Tasha) Miller and Kendra (Mike) Swartzendruber, both of Iowa Falls, Sheramee (John) Fowler of Atlanta, Ga., Stephanie (Gregg) Edmonds of Houston, Texas, Earl Miller of Austin, Minn., and Eaton (Kayleena) Miller of Blooming Prairie, Minn.; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Dorothy Burkholder of Harmony, Minn.
Preceded in death by a son, Dale; three sisters, Doris Nagel, Vera Heusinkveld and Irene Nagel; and a brother, Merlin Wissing.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at South Waterloo Church of the Brethren, with burial in Orange Township Cemetery. Public visitation 4 to 7 p.m. today at Locke Funeral Home.
