WATERLOO - Roy Pool, 82, of Waterloo, formerly of Detroit, died Tuesday, May 16, 2006, at Windsor Nursing and Rehab Center, Cedar Falls, of natural causes.

He was born May 29, 1923, in Douds. He married Margaret Vilfer on June 7, 1947. She died March 8, 2002.

Mr. Pool graduated from Douds High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Burma, China and Korea, during World War II. He then moved to Detroit to work with his brother, Harold. He later was employed in construction with the Monte Costello Co., Detroit, retiring in 1987.

Survivors include two daughters, Constance (Rich) Pierce and Janet Zalewski, both of Waterloo; three grandchildren, Rick (Lisa) King, Tara King and Chris King, all of Waterloo; and a great-grandson, Jaden Lee King of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by eight brothers and two sisters.

Memorial services: 2 p.m. Wednesday at Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel. Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to Windsor Nursing and Rehab Center, Cedar Falls.
