DIED

At the residence of I. Schenck, Cedar Falls, Iowa, April 7th, Miss MARY HOLMES, aged 67 years, 6 months.

Miss Holmes united with The Presbyterian Church in Fulton, New York, of which she was a member nineteen years. During her residence of six years in Iowa, she was without the privileges of her Church until the last year of her life. She was always strongly attached to the Church of which she was a member. For six months before her death she was afflicted with a rheumatic affection which confined her at home most of the time. On the 5th of April (two days before her last) she went out to attend the lecture preparatory to communion. On her return, and within a few steps of her home, she fell in an apoplectic fit, and continued unconscious to the end. This last act of her life was in keeping with her whole life since she made a profession of Christ. When able, she was always in attendance at the meetings of the Church, whether on the Sabbath or on week days.
