"Paralysis Results in Death"
Henry Corning Died Fri Night
Funeral was Held Monday Afternoon

Henry Corning who suffered a stroke of paralysis Friday afternoon died last night at ten o'clock. He did not regain consciousness and though he made several attempts to speak no sound could be heard.
Henry Corning was born in Chatham, Columbia Co., New York, in 1833. When two years old, moved with his parents to Grafton, Larane Co. Ohio, and when nineteen years of age, he moved to Gainville, Clayton Co. Iowa. In 1850 he married Miss Mansfield in Prairie Du Chien, Wisconsin and in 1863 he came to Cedar Falls and has since made this city his home.
Mr. Corning was a carpenter by trade and was construction a builing on State Street when he was stricken with paralysis resulting in his death. Mr. Corning was one of our old settlers, coming here during the war and his many friends in the surrounding country will mourn his sudden death. He has always been a public spirited citizen and it will be remembered that two years ago, he made and presented to President McKinley, a handsome chair.
His wife and six children mourn his loss: N. A. Corning of Kansas City, Mrs. Frank Boggess of Minneapolis, Mrs.W.S.Dodge of Nevada, Iowa, Mrs. Dave McDonald, B.J. Corning and I. D. Corning of this city.
Funeral services were conducted at the Clay Street home at two o'clock on Monday by the Rev. Ear----? The internment was in Greenwood Cemetery.
