Funeral services for Dorci J. Andersen, 44, were conducted July 7, 2005 at Kessler Funeral Home in Exira, with Pastor Steven Frock officiating. Interment was in the St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, west of Exira. Honorary casket bearers were Troy Young, C.J. Benton, Mitch Frederiksen, Aaron Meyer, Michael Clark, Andrew Smith, Keith Schmidt, Dave Chamberlain and Chris Andersen. Casket bearers were Rex Andersen, Rich Andersen, Jeremiah Juhl, Kelly Paulsen, Tony Young, Jason Frederiksen, Matt Frederiksen, Kyle Frederiksen, Anthony Smith and Denny Juhl.

Dorci Jo Andersen, the daughter of John L. and Marcelyn Miller Frederiksen was born April 11, 1961, in Audubon and died July 2, 2005, at her home in Brayton.

Dorci attended Audubon Community School in Audubon. After high school, she was employed as a custodian at the Audubon County Courthouse and also sorted corn for Garst and Thomas in Coon Rapids for several years. She then was employed in the kitchen at the Country Platter in the Overland Plaza near Interstate 80.

On Dec. 12, 1982, she was united in marriage to James C. Andersen in Audubon. Dorci was a homemaker for quite a few years. Later she helped her father-in-law, Richard Andersen, as a custodian for the rest area near Adair for a short time and lately helped part-time as a day-care assistant with her niece, Tina Paulsen, in Exira.

Preceding her in death was her father, John L. Frederiksen; her grandparents: Edgar and Lois Miller and Victor and Dorothy Frederiksen; her mother-in-law, Carol Jayne; brother-in-law: Rick Andersen and David Jayne; and nephew, Joel Frederiksen.

Dorci is survived by her husband, James C. Andersen of Brayton; her sons: Travis Andersen of Hamlin and Brian Andersen of Audubon; her mother, Marcelyn Frederiksen of Hamlin; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Richard and Margaret Andersen of Brayton; brothers and sisters: John E. Frederiksen and friend, Kelley Boyce of Atlantic; Debra and Rick Petersen of Atlantic; Jim and Patti Frederiksen of Marne; Diane and Scott Black of Hamlin; her step father-in-law, Claude Jayne of Exira; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Denny and wife, Tammy Jayne of Lewis; Peggy and husband, Denny Juhl of Brayton; Rex Andersen and friend, Linda of Brayton; Sally Smith and friend, Shon Young of Exira; Rich and wife, Lisa Andersen of Anita; Susan and husband, Bryan Hansen of Brayton; Claudette and husband, Aaron Meyer of Exira; Tammy and husband, Bill Clark of Exira; Julie Paulson of Exira; Karolyn Andersen of Kimballton; and many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
