Funeral services for David A. Faga, 62, of Adair, were conducted May 17, 2005 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Adair, with Rev. Peter Haenftling officiating. Interment was in the St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Adair with Military Rites. Honorary casket bearers were Ray Schellenberg, Dale Jensen, Gary Mueller, Jim Bireline, Karl Knutter, David Hockenberry, Dennis Immel and Ken Dickey. Casket bearers were Mark Selby, Gary Drees, Jamie Faga, Randy Rule, Josh Barnett and Kirk Andersen.

David A. Faga the son of Andrew and Helen Hammond Faga was born Oct. 24, 1942, in Adair and died May 14, 2005 at the Cass County Memorial Hospital.

He grew up in Audubon County where he attended Audubon and Guthrie County schools and graduated from Adair-Casey High School in 1961. He had been baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church. He served in the United States Army in the Vietnam War. After being discharged from the service, he started farming northwest of Adair.

On Nov. 30, 1968, he was married to Donna Drees at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Exira. He had lived and farmed on their present farm for 37 years. He was a lifetime member of St. John’s Lutheran Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and brother, Larry Faga.

David is survived by his wife, Donna; his children: Toni Faga and special friend, Jon Fox of Casey; and Zachary Faga of Des Moines; grandchildren: Tessa McCuen and Jacob Fox; sister, Kay Selby and husband, David of Des Moines; brother, Connie Ray Faga and wife, Connie Sue of Exira; sister, Debbie Barnett of Des Moines; aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
