Final rites were held at 1:30 Sunday afternoon at the Exira Church of Christ for
Mrs. Gerald Akers, 35, wife of a farmer living southeast of Exira and daughter of
the late Charles Spry of Wiota, early settler of Cass county and civil war veteran,
who died Friday evening at the Atlantic hospital following a short illness with
uremic poisoning. The Rev. A. G. Whitter, pastor of the church, officiated and
interment was in the Exira cemetery.
