Passes at Exira

Had Lived in the County for Almost
Fifty Years; Several Brothers and
Sisters Survive

Samuel Miller Parrott, a resident of
the Exira vicinity during all save the
first nine years of his life, passed
away Thanksgiving day at the home
of Arthur Dodge, west of Exira, fol-
lowing an illness of about three weeks
His illness had been caused by gall
bladder trouble, pneumonia develop-
ing a few days before, being the di-
rect cause of his death.

The deceased was born at Dubuque
on December 21, 1862. He came to
Audubon county with his parents in
1871. He had lived in the Exira vi-
cinity since that time, and was nev-
er married.

Seven Brothers and Sisters

Five sisters and two brothers sur-
vive. They are Tom Parrott of Exira
Horace of Guthrie Center, Mrs. Ella
Hensley of Seattle, Wash.; Mrs. Ber-
tha Campbell; Mrs. Flora Frederick
of Boone; and Mrs. Cora Egan of
Exira.

Funeral services were held Satur-
day afternoon. A short service was
held at the W. F. Williams home, west
of Exira, while the main service was
conducted at the Federated church
Rev. R. N. Chord officiating Burial
was in the Exira cemetery.

1. Samuel Miller Parrott, born December 21, 1862 in Cascade, Dubuque, Iowa; died November 27, 1924 west of Exira, Audubon County, Iowa at the home of Arthur Dodge. He was the son of 2. Perry Parrott and 3. Barbara A. Denel.

Generation No. 2
2. Perry Parrott, born October 01, 1833 in Ohio; died June 07, 1919 in Greeley, Audubon, Iowa. He was the son of 4. Thomas Parrott and 5. Elizabeth L. Miller. He married 3. Barbara A. Denel April 16, 1859 in Dubuque, Iowa.
3. Barbara A. Denel, born September 18, 1841 in Salina, Lincoln Co., Ohio; died August 10, 1913 in Exira, Audubon, Iowa. She was the daughter of 6. Allen Denel and 7. Mary Burge.
