KILLED IN GRAVEL PIT

William Bell, aged about 25 years,
was killed in a gravel pit near Cam-
bridge last Saturday morning. The
young man had gone to the pit for
some gravel. He had completed his
load when the gravel pit caved in
and buried him under tons of sand
and gravel. His team walked out of
the pit and started for home. Another
hauler met the team in the road
and not finding the driver went to
the pit where he discovered what had
taken place. Help was immediately
summoned but it came too late.

The young man is the son of Mr.
and Mrs. W. C. Bell, and was born
in Greeley township where the fam-
ily lived for many years before mov-
ing to Huxley, where they now live.
He was a nephew of Fred Reynolds
of Greeley township and Miss Ida
Reynolds of Audubon.

Funeral services were held at Cam-
bridge Tuesday, July 1st and his body
brought overland to Audubon, where
interment was made in Maple Grove
cemetery. A short service was held at
the grave in charge of Rev. O. B. Lee.
