Friday evening Jacob Sandbeck drove to town and soon after one of the horses took sick with spinal meningitis. He prescribed for the animal which continued to grow worse apparently and finally it was left to die. Sequel: In the morning it was found that the horse had got better during the night got up upon its feet and made a bee line for its home, 2 1/2 miles south of town.
