Mr. T. J. Coglan, of southeast
Hamlin township, met with a dis-
tressing accident New Years eve soon
after returning from Exira, when
one of his horses gave him a vicious
kick on his arm, breaking the bone.
Dr. Riley, of Exira, came up about
seven o'clock that evening on call
over the phone and set the bones and
Mr. Coglan was doing as well Tues-
day as could be expected. The acci-
dent is doubly distressing as he only
has one hand, the other being ampu-
tated several years ago, and as it
was on the other arm the blow was
received, it renders him entirely
helpless for the time being, so far as
feeding and dressing himself is con-
cerned. His many friends hope he
may soon recover the use of the arm,
and be able to resume his usual
avocation.Audubon County Journal (IA)
