Elmer, nine-year-old son of Mr.
and Mrs. Roy McClain, of West
Exira, was badly injured Saturday
afternoon when he ran into a
barbed wire fence while playing
with some companions. The wire
struck him across the cheek, cut-
ting a deep gash which required
eight stitches to be taken.

Note: Parents of Elmer Joe "Peanuts" McClain (1907-1981) were Roy Charles McClain and Pearl Mary Chase.
