While Wm. Tessman was burn-
ing papers in the front yard of the
Duvall house Saturday afternoon a
gust of wind carried a burning pa-
per on the roof of the front porch.
Due to the extreme dryness of the
shingles, the roof ignited at once.
The fire was gotten under control
as quickly as possible, but not un-
til it had burned a 10 foot hole in
the roof of the porch. The fire de-
partment of Audubon was sum-
moned.
