Franck Bros. Plumbing Co. Started in '40
Franck Plumbing & Heating company was established in 1940 by Dan and Ed Franck, who came to Audubon in 1939 and '35 respectively. During World War II, both brothers contributed their knowledge and experience to war work in Nebraska and on the West Coast, and their business was closed in Audubon for about two years. Afterward they returned to Audubon, building up their volume of business until, in 1950, they moved from their old location on Highway 71, to their present location on the northwest corner of Broadway where they have a large, modern brick building. In June of this year, they once again expanded, by starting a separate organization known as Franck's Propane service. Some of the brand names of equipment sold by the firm include Lennox warm air furnaces and heating equipment, Crane and American standard lines of plumbing, Hotpoint appliances, Geneva custom-tailored kitchens, Tappan natural and bottled gas ranges, and RCA and Crosley radios and television. In addition many other lines of equipment are on display in the large room used for this purpose.
