Patricia Yates, Neil Rowley Wed In Guthrie Center
Miss Patricia Yates, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ilo V. Yates of Adair, became the bride of Neil Rowley, son of Mr. and Mrs. P. O. Rowley of Guthrie Center, August 24, at the First Methodist church in Guthrie Center. The Rev. L. C. McDonald performed the double ring ceremony at 8 o' clock. Mrs. Dell Ellett played the Mendelsohn wedding march and accompanied Larry Allen who sang "Because." The bride given in marriage by her father wore a white satin gown with net over-skirt that extended to the end of the train. The bodice was of lace inserted with an over collar of lace. The veil was held in place with a pearl tiara and lace net trim. She carried a white satin Bible. Miss Jacqueline Yates attended her sister as maid of honor. She wore a green net over tafetta gown with matching wrist gauntlets. Serving as bridesmaids were Miss Marjorie Rowley, sister of the bridegroom and Miss Joyce Yates, sister of the bride. They wore gowns of pink and lavender net over tafetta respectively. They carried colored gladiola nosegays. Keith Rowley, brother of the bridegroom, served as best man. Carl Rowley of Guthrie Center and Richard Crondell of Lake City served as candlelighters and ushers. A reception was held in the social rooms of the church following the wedding. The bridal table was covered with a white linen cloth centered with a three tiered wedding cake with lighted candles on each side of the cake. After a week's wedding trip to the Ozarks, Mr. and Mrs. Rowley will be at home in Iowa City where Mr. Rowley is attending Iowa University.
