Sheriff Wilson Sued for
$80,000 by Tennigkeit--------
Sheriff B. F. Wilson and his
bondsmen, Charles VanGorder and
Edward F. Johnson have been sued
for $80,000 by Fred Tennigkeit,
formerly an Audubon County far-
mer, who, in time of the war was
mobbed and hung until unconscious
because of his sympathies being
pro-German and made to sign a
check for $1 00 for the Red Cross.
Tennigkeit claims that B. F. Wil-
son, the sheriff, failed to offer him
any protection but instead handed
him over to the mob. Tennigkeit
askes $50,000 damage from the sher-
riff and $15,000 from each of his
bondsmen.
