A little three year old child of J.S. Engelhorn, of this township, was playing with a dog near a ditch about two feet deep, one day last week, and was capsized into it by the animal, receiving internal injuries from which it died next day.

Note: The 1880 mortality schedule shows 4 y/o Theodor Engelhorn died in March due to the bursting of a vein.
