KELLEY, SWEENEY, SHERIDAN, OLSON, KERRIGAN, BENNETT

William Kelley, Sr., of Carpenter, this state, died at his home March 3, 1911, of apoplexy. Funeral services were held at the Catholic church in this city Tuesday, March 7.

He was born at Green Mountain, Vt., March 1, 1843. February 16, 1868, he was married to Margaret Sweeney, of Waukon, Iowa.

To this union were born eleven children, seven boys and four girls, seven of whom survive him. They are: Joe and William of Carpenter; Charles of Driscoll, N.D.; Emmet of Arabia, Col; Frank of Willow Lakes; Mrs. Frank Sheridan of Carpenter and Mrs. Rose Olson of Driscol, ND.

The brothers and sisters who survive are Mrs. Sarah Kerrigan of New Albin, Iowa; Owen Kelley, Thomas Kelley and Mrs. Mary Bennett of De Smet, S.D.

He lived in Iowa, at Allamakee, for sixty years and the remainder of his life has been spent in Dakota.

All the above named relatives were present at the funeral with the exception of Mrs. Kerrigan. John Kelley, from Iowa, a nephew was also present.

The deceased was known to a great many of the residents of the northern part of this county, and especially among the earlier residents, all whom extend their sympathy to the widow and relatives.
