Alex Verdon of Poplar, died suddenly at Havre on Wednesday morning of this week. Mr. Verdon had driven to Havre to visit with his wife who is ill in a Havre hospital.
Mr. Verdon's death was due to a cerebral hemmorrhage. He passed away at 8:50 a.m. His son, Paul, a student at the University of Montana at Missoula, was with him when he died.
Alex Verdon was born May 10, 1879, in Allamakee County, Iowa. He came to Montana in 1910 from Lansing, Iowa, and settled in Poplar in 1912.
On March 22, 1915, he married Mary Mitchell at Glasgow. They lived in Poplar where he engaged in well-drilling and the plumbing and heating business.
He is survived by his wife, Mary, one son Paul; one sister, Isabelle, Mrs. Peter Dauyette of Portland, Ore.; and two brothers, George of Poplar and Moses of Fremont, Wisconsin.
Funeral services will he held from the Our Lady of Lourdes church at Poplar at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 22, with Rev. Father Weidinger officiating.
