Frankville people were grieved to learn of the death of Mrs. W. W. Hubbell yesterday morning after a weeks’ illness of pneumonia. She will be greatly missed in the community as she was a prominent worker in the church and W. C. T. U. She had been president of the Frankville union since its organization nearly six years ago, and also held the office of district secretary and was given a life’s membership last October. She was especially interested in the young people and for many years taught a class in S. S. and each Sunday found her in her place unless detained at home by sickness and now God has called her to lay down her work to be with him in that better world above. Flora D. Purdy was born March 7, 1860, in Lansing, Iowa. She made her home for a number of years in Waukon and since her marriage to Wm. W. Hubbell May 6, 1891, she has lived on a farm in Frankville township. She was converted at an early age and in 1887 brought her letter from the Lansing church to the Presbyterian church in Waukon and two weeks ago united with the church at this place. Besides her husband, she leaves three brothers, Ed. Purdy of Waukon, Charles Purdy of Salem, Ore., and Will Purdy of California. The funeral services will be held to-morrow at the home at 11 o’clock conducted y Rev. Healey. The members of the W. C. T. U. and her S. S. class will attend in a body and the boys in her class will act as pall bearers. The remains will be taken to Waukon where further services will be held and interment made Wednesday. Our heartfelt sympathy is extended to Mr. Hubbell in his sad affliction.

Transcriber’s Note: Her gravestone indicates she was born in 1859; however, the death certificate shows 1860 as is reflected above. Find a Grave shows she died Mar. 26, 1916 and is buried in Oakland Cemetery.
