The news by telegram of the death of Ludwig Andres, at Minneapolis, formerly of Lansing, where his wife died some three years ago, and who married Miss Mary Casos of French Creek Twp., was received by Rev. Hess, of May's Prairie, recently, and forwarded to Mrs. Andres, who with the children has been for several weeks living with her brother in F.C. Twp., while Mr. A. was up North, looking for work; and as a letter received a few days before announced his good health, the sudden news of his death was a great blow to his wife, who is said to have been much overcome by it, and is thus left with five children to support.
The STANDARD of last week copies an item from a Chicago paper relative to his death, but as the name is incorrectly given fails to recognize him as one of its former citizens, Mr. A. having resided at Waukon for the past year or two.

Name conflict note: St. Paul's Methodist Church, Waukon records include the marriage of Ludwig Andres of Lansing twp. and Maria LAABS of French Creek on 1/22/1878. The transcriber does not know if her surname was CASOS as in the death notice or correct in the church record. His first wife may have been Maria Andres who has a gravestone in Old Oak Hill cemetery 1842-1876.
