Sickness prevails to some extent, of bilious and typhoid forms. Joseph Williamson, a resident of the County for more than twenty years, died on Sunday night last, aged about 80 years.
His life was necessarily rather retired as he had been blind for twenty-four years. He leaves an aged wife quite alone in her affliction, as her three daughters reside at a distance and the only son living is an incurable inmate of the Soldiers' Hospital at Washington, D.C.
Kind friends were not wanting to minister to Mr. Williamson during his short illness or to perform the acts of kindness and attention necessary in consigning the body to the tomb.

Note: he shares a gravestone in Mt. Hope, w/his son John, who died 9/9/1878. John served in Co. F, 6th IA Cavalry
