Mrs. Charles Burnham died Tuesday morning a the home of her children, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Ames. The funeral will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the Luana M.E. church, conducted by Rev. L.N. Greene, pastor. The burial will be in the Monona cemetery. Particulars next week.

Ann Dorlesca Hinman was born in Yorkshire, Cattarangus Co. N.Y. March 7th, 1835, and died in Luana, Ia., Oct 23, 1899,aged 64 years 6 months and 16 days.

She was united in marriage to Hiram Wilcox in 1855. Mr. Wilcox died in the army in 1863. In September 1866 she was married to Alphonso Ames, who died in April 1872. In 1881 she was married to Charles Burnham and was again left a widow in 1891.

Some 30 years since she was converted and united with the M.E. church of which church she was a member at her death. She was ready for her Masters call home.

She was a mother of three children, two of whom, Mrs. Frank Ames, and George Ames, survive her.

Mrs. Burnham's brother, Clark Hinman of Hardin, and her sister, Mrs. Winter of Waukon, were present at the funeral. Mr. Geo. Ames and Mrs. Frank Ames together with their families desire to thank all the friends who assisted them in the sickness and burial of their mother.

-1860 US census, Volney, Franklin twp., Allamakee co. IA: Hiram Wilcox (27, b. NY, farmer), Charlotta (26, b. NY) & James (3, b. NY) ... I believe this is Dorlesca despite the name conflict
-She is mentioned in the 1913 Biography of her step-son Frank Ames s/o Alphonso & his 1st wife "...second wife having been Mrs. Dorlesca (Hinman) Wilcox, widow of a veteran of the Civil war." Frank was also her son-in-law, having married Hiram & Dorlesca's daughter Allie. See Frank's bio:
