Funeral services for Mrs. John (Millie) Kosbau, 86, of Davenport were held at 2:30 p.m. June 29 in Martin Funeral home, Waukon, the Rev. Henry Heinbuch officiating. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery.
She died on Sunday, June 26, in a Davenport nursing home.
She was born in Allamakee county on June 3, 1981 [sic] to William and Mary Riser Goettel. She attended the local schools and she married John Kosbau on September 30, 1914 in Waukon. He preceded her in death in April of 1951.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Dorothy) Wells of East Moline, Ill. and Mrs. Clinton (Florence) Howell of Westfield, New Jersey; a son, Harold, of Davenport; a sister, Mrs. Viola David, of Junction City, Kansas; ten grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Sisters and brothers preceding her in death were Matilda, Nora, Julius, Joseph, George, Bert and Clarence.
Casket bearers were Gary Kosbau, Bruce Howell, Mike Melton, Charles Massa, Merlin Kruger and Milton Schneider.

Notes: DOB given in the obituary is obviously incorrect. The 'Woodmansee' record for the German Addition, Oakland cemetery gives her DOB as 6/3/1891.
