Mrs. Fred Adam, nee Stock, passed away at her daughter's home in Ludlow township, Allamakee county on Friday, 9:10 p.m. June 28, after an illness that extended over a period of about a year.

Mrs. Lydia Adam was born in Ludlow township, Allamakee county, August 7, 1884, and at the time of her death was 50 years, 10 months and 21 days.

On September 21, 1905, she was united in marriage to Fred Adam of Ludlow township, at Waukon.

To this union three children were born, Mrs. Ed Schaefer, Alfred and Willard Adam.

The surviving relatives to mourn her loss are her beloved husband, Mrs. Ed Schaefer, Alfred Adam, Willard Adam, one son-in-law, Ed Schaefer, one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Alfred Adam, one grandchild, Jean Schaefer, five sisters, Mrs. Fred Grotegut, Mrs. Charley Pausch, Mrs. Henry Pausch, Mrs. William Dravis, Mrs. Matilda Hermeier, four brothers, Ed Stock, Fred Stock, and a brother, William of Lexington, Nebraska, and many other relatives.

Mrs. Lydia Adam was confirmed in the Zalmona Presbyterian church on April 10, 1898, by the reverend W.C. Buettell. On May 6, 1906 she joined by letter the membership of the Bethlehem Presbyterian church. She was faithful in her attendance upon the service of the church and gladly received the Word of God as a guide to life present and future.
