Mrs. Wm. Dravis Died Saturday At Age of 72
Acquaintances of Mrs. Wm. Dravis were saddened to learn of her death which occurred Saturday morning at her home in this city, following and extended illness.Caroline Stock was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Stock, early settlers in Ludlow township, where she was born November 27, 1868 and was in her 73rd year.
She attained young womanhood in that vicinity and on April 10, 1885 was united in marriage with William Dravis and they established their home on the farm of his father, the late Charles Dravis in Jefferson township where they resided two years. They then moved to Estherville, (IA) which was their home the ensuing eight years, after which they returned to Jefferson. Three years ago they sold the farm and sought rest from the active duties of life by purchasing a home in Waukon, which they had anticipated enjoying together during the sunset of their lives.
Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Elmer Fogt and Mrs. Otto Promnitz, both of this city, who mourn the passing of a beloved wife and mother.
There are also four brothers and four sister, namely: Fred and Ed Stock, Mrs. Mathilda Hermeier and Mrs. Charles Pausch, Ludlow township; Charles Stock and Mrs. Henry Pausch, Waukon; Will Stock of Lexington, Neb., and Mrs. Fred Grotegut of Frankville.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at Zion Reformed church conducted by the Rev. F. E. Stucki. The casket was banked with beautiful flowers testifying to the high regard in which deceased was held. Burial was in Oakland cemetery.
