Mildred L. Jones, 90, of Waukon, died Monday, June 22, 1998 at the Waukon Good Samaritan Center.

She was born May 2, 1908 to Martin and Mary (Christianson) Ryan in Waukon. She studied normal training in school.

March 15, 1944 she married Louis Jones in Rochester, Minn. They lived in Waukon.

Mildred was a teacher and homemaker. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Waukon.

She is survived by two sons, James and Thomas; three grandchildren, Kimberly, Andrew and Carrie; and a great-grandson, Nicholas.

She was preceded in death by her husband and by six brothers and sisters, Jesse Bender, Mable Geasy, Harold Ryan, Sidney Ryan, Carl Ryan and Leonard Ryan.

Funeral services were held Thursday, June 25 at St. John's Lutheran Church with the Rev. Lynn Groe officiating. Burial followed at Oakland Cemetery.

Pallbearers were James Jones, Andrew Jones, Thomas Jones, James Johnson, Irving Welsh and Everett Kirkeby. Hansen Funeral Home, Waukon, was in charge of arrangements.
